As you know, learning English is not easy. You’ve already studied English for many years, but perhaps you don’t feel like you can really use the English you know.
You know a lot of grammar and words, but I need to tell you that grammar and words are important--but you will never be able to communicate very well just by knowing a lot of grammar and words. What you need to do to communicate with confidence is to know a lot of phrases. Grammar and words will make it easier to learn phrases, but phrases are what you really need.

We hope that this test will give you motivation to use what you already know to learn more expressions so that you can say what you want to say when you want to say it. By studying for the test and passing it, you will be able to communicate with confidence, and when you are understood by a non-Japanese, you will be motivated to study more and more.

One of the first expressions I learned in Japanese was “Ohayo gozaimasu.” I remember saying this to an elderly next-door neighbor when I first came to Japan, and she understood and replied. That motivated me to study more and more.
By learning phrases and using them whenever you have a chance, you will be able to continue to study. And the more you study the easier it gets!

Good luck!
